Vocalist
Supriya Nagarajan is a UK based vocalist/composer who creates cross- cultural cross-genre concept driven immersive music work. She has toured the globe and created work for festivals like the hcmf//, Ultima Oslo and Iceland Symphony Orchestra. She is a Performing Rights Society/Jerwood composer and an alumni of New voices 2018 Sound and Music. She is the Artistic Director of Manasamitra, a UK based arts charity and a passionate advocate for fair access in the music sector. Apart from Dusk Notes, recent releases were on the Come Play with me and Café Oto’s Takuroku labels. Supriya also hosts a radio show on Worldwide FM
Flute
Sarah is a UK-based versatile flautist, cellist, conductor, and music teacher with experience in performing a wide range of musical styles. A graduate of Bath Spa University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Sarah has performed for Royalty and in venues across the UK and abroad. Described as ‘A fine flautist’ by Roberto Bigio in the British Flute Society Journal, Sarah is a champion of ‘new music’ as well as the standard flute repertoire.
Piano
Yanna was born in Greece and has lived in the UK for over 27 years. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Eastman School of Music, U.S.A., Yanna developed her professional career as a concert pianist, Chamber Musician, Accompanist, Conductor, Educator and Musical Director. Having retired from music classroom teaching in 2016, she has joined forces with Sarah in forming Animo while also fulfilling a long-term ambition to showcase new music, and in particular, Greek composers for solo piano.
Electronics and Flugelhorn
Duncan Chapman is a composer/sound artist/musician based in Lincolnshire UK. Much of his work involves collaborations with a wide range of people creating performances, installations & recordings. Recent projects include online live events with HUMBOX and Comb Filter, a residency at EMS in Stockholm, curating a concert for the Aural Diversity project and performances (with Supriya Nagarajan) at the Jaipur Literature Festival in India, Casa da Musica in Porto and at the 2022 WOMAD festival. Recent album releases: Dusk Notes, 2020; Lullaby -Sonic Cradle@ CCA and Posse of Fireflies, 2022. Duncan is also working on musical hydrotherapy projects with Liquid Vibrations and collaborations with Digit music, Manasamitra and Humbox. Duncan is the 4th occasional member of PRANASA, a collaboration which started during PRANASA's residential at Snape Maltings in 2021 followed by their inaugural performance at the 'Festival of New',Snape Maltings, September 2021.
Harp
Passionate about challenging and evolving new styles of harp-playing through collaboration, composition and performance, Lucy Nolan is a sought-after harpist who is equally at home performing in concert halls, jazz clubs, orchestra pits, even industrial installations. Transcending music genres is at the core of her performance whether it is free improvisation, playing from a written score or a merging cultures and expanding her expressive performance style. Lucy gained postgraduate degrees from Oxford University and the Royal Northern College of music with Distinction. She was a finalist in the RNCM’s Gold Medal weekend; the highest accolade awarded for performance which has led to her being a guest harpist with many of the UK’s largest orchestras such as the Hallé, Manchester Concert Orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia in world-renowned venues. Lucy performs regularly with PRANASA’s Supriya Nagarajan and Duncan Chapman with whom she performed extensively at the Royal Albert Hall, TUSK festival, Huddersfield Music Festival among many other venues worldwide including the Jaipur Literature Festival. A recipient of the ‘Developing Your Creative Practice Grant’ from the Arts Council and the ‘Do it Differently’ award from Help Musicians, Lucy has enhanced and transformed her performance practice by composing her own works as well as commissioning new pieces for the harp. We are absolutely thrilled that Lucy has accepted our invitation to join PRANASA and fill-in for Sarah Waycott for PRANASA's concert at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, July 6th 2023.
